Women's Ice Hockey/EWHL: in the first EWHL league game last season's champion Sabres Vienna beat vice champion Slovan Bratislava 5-4 and had a successful start into 2011-12...The game started with a delay in the small Albert Schultz ice arena as the game clock in the big arena did not work without the use of other features of the video wall. The home team had a 2-0 lead after a bit more than 9 minutes in the game, but the Slovaks came back (10.54) with an answer. And after an equal second period Vienna concentrated in the last 20 minutes mostly on defence, while Slovan tried everything to win this game (21-4 shots on goal for the guest team in this period). But in the end the Sabres could celebrate their first win in 2011-12 season.
